I've always viewed this timeline shenanigans as an unnecessary clusterfrack, it feels so messy to watch (if that even makes sense). So there is an infinite number of Cells/Androids, one for each arbitrary segment in time. Why aren't there an infinite number of Cells coming back in time to find 17/18? I assume most time-lines resulted in Cell stealing Trunks' time machine. Perhaps all the time-lines flow at exactly the same pace? Regardless, I'm just surprised the universe didn't implode upon Trunks going back. Trunks somehow defeated the androids

but how do we know Cell ambushed him then? Or was it confirmed by AT that there was a 4th timeline and he gave this explanation or something? Cause otherwise it just seems speculative.. |

The Present Trunks from Timeline 1 decided to hand the blueprints to Bulma, who then created the remote control for shooting down the Androids, she then gave it to Krillin, etc, etc. Maybe the Trunks from Timeline 3 lived the same life than Present Timeline Trunks, but he decided to go back to his time as soon as he found the blueprints... |

In episode 143 Cell tells Kamiccolo how did he came from his time, he ambushed Trunks who was returning to that time, and Trunks wasnt a MSSJ, he was still an Unmastered SSJ, this means that he deactivated the Androids, since at that point he was unable to beat them. Cell told Kamiccolo that he went back in time because he couldnt find the Androids. |

Ah ah! I think I get it now okay so.. T-1 is ours. T-1 Cell and Trunks are still babies. T-2 is future Trunks' timeline where Goku dies. T-3 is also future Trunks' time, but instead of killing Cell like he does in T-2 at the end of the Cell saga, he dies because he went back early to defeat the androids and therefore was not prepared. So that means T-3 and T4 are related with the same history of Goku not being alive and such. T-4 is the timeline branching from T-1 where Trunks did come back, thus saving Goku, but left early to go kill the androids with the device but was killed by T-3 Cell who stole the time machine and went to T-1 .... do I have that right? I felt like I went in a circle near the end. |

I don't understand why T-4 Trunks had the timeline programmed for two years before Goku's arrival on Earth. It was said that that spaceship had been around for two years before T-2 Trunks arrived. T-4 Trunks was supposedly going back in time to inform everyone that he figured out a way to stop the androids...no one even knows about the androids at this time. |
Now, there's an idea. | |

I dont remember in the manga, but in the anime flashback of Cell he ambushes Trunks when he was entering the Time Machine, maybe it was a miscalcullation due to Trunks not adjusting the controls. |

By the re-reading of that page that Kamikaze posted, there is a particularity, why there is a grown up Cell in Timeline 4? If there was a Cell Games in Age 767 then that Cell had to come from some other timeline, since that time Cell at Age 767 was still a cocoon. That makes me think that maybe in Timeline 4 there was no Cell coming from the future, in the matter of fact, maybe there wasnt any Cell, only Androids 17 and 18, in this timeline could fit perfectly the movie Super Android 13!. @Seruphim, yes, thats much pretty correct. The only mistake is that Goku dies in Timelines 2 and 3, in T1 and T4 he is saved by the heart medicine. Edited by NeoSSayajin, Sep 2 2011, 10:11 AM.
